Flexible Connectors and Supply Tubing

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Turn water off at shut-off valve.
2. Remove the connector to be replaced.
3. Clean all threads.
4. Hand Tighten each end of the unit.
5. Now open water shut-off valve and check each end around the threads for leaks.

WATER SUPPLY STOPS
1. One of the most common stops is iron pipe threads (IPS) inlet (1) with a compression outlet. The compression fitting consists of a ferrule (3) and a nut (4). When you connect the supply tube (5) to a compression fitting slip he compression nut (4) onto the supply tube (5). Next slip the ferrule (3) into the tube (5). Place tube into stop and tighten ferrule (3) with compression nut (4). Hand tighten nut (4), then turn 1/4 turn with an adjustable wrench. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE NUT.
2. Another common stop is iron pipe thread (IPS) inlet (1) with a slip joint outlet. A slip joint outlet consists of a slip joint nut (7), a friction ring (8), and a cone washer (9). When connecting supply tube (5) to a slip joint connection, slip the slip joint nut (7) over the supply tube (5). Next, place the friction ring (8) over the supply tube (5). At this pont it is suggested that a lockridge tool be used to place a bead in the supply tube (5). Beading the supply tube will prevent the possibility of a "blow off" of the tubing under pressure. A lockridge tool is probably your cheapest insurance against water damage.

Supply Valves

Supply Valves are used to control the water flow at the point of use so that you do not have to turn the water off to the house.  Valve are available in almost any configuration you need. From pipe to sweat and compression with 1 to 3 outlets.

Water Heater Connectors

Flexible water heater connectors need to be replaced from time to time. Anytime you attach two dissimilar metal together it creates what is called electrolysis that corrodes the fittings. The use of a dielectric union help minimize the effects of electrolysis. When attaching a water flex connector to your water heater no teflon tape is needed the seal is made on the water flex washer this washer can be replaced.

Pressure Temperature Relief Valve  (PTR valve).

PTR valves are a very important part of the safety system of you water heater. This valve prevents a build up of pressure that can burst you water heater tank. Test you valve regularly to assure proper function. Replace if needed.
